I have been "farming" in some capacity since before I was old enough to hold a shovel. My first "garden" was planted in Kindergarten, in a 1/2 pint milk carton filled with sand from the play ground.
In 1975 my wife Chris and I looked into purchasing some farm land. We found out that we started looking about 3 - 4 years too late because the prices had shot up faster than our income. That scenario would continue for nearly 25 years.
After chasing the illusive farm dream for years, we purchased 20 acres of undeveloped land in Kelseyville, Ca. in 2000.

We use no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides on our farm. We use a variety of animal manures, compost, and green manures to provide soil fertility. We believe that providing optimum growing conditions negates the need for chemical insect controls. When crops require treatment only a nonsynthetic substance approved for use in Organic agriculture is used. Application rates are the lowest possible and in some cases we would rather allow the crop to fail that use any treatment method. We do not participate in the use of genetically modified organisms on our farm. (GE)
We believe in personal integrity and our farming practices are open for inspection by our customers. We understand the importance of growing "organically" even without the need for outside certification. We were growing without the use of synthetic materials before "organic" became popular.
