Welcome to Love Farms

 In 1997 we purchased 20 undeveloped acres in Kelseyville, California with the dream of starting a small farm.  In May of 2008 our first eggs and fresh produce were taken to the local farmer's market in Finley Californa.  Our farm observes sustainable agricultural practices. Sustainable agriculture refers to the ability of a farm to produce food indefinitely, without causing irreversible damage to ecosystem health.  Though we are not certified as organic, we are growing our crops without the use of any synthetic pesticides or fertilizers.   We are members of the North East Organic Farmers Association and signers of the "Farmer's Pledge".

What We Do

Our farm is diversified.   We raise a variety of animals and plants and provide other services.  Our goal to to make the farm as self sustaining as practical. 

1. Solar and Wind Power to reduce our need for externally generated power.
   Bees for crop pollination and honey
2. Draft Horses for manure and as a low impact power source.
   Boer goats for fire/brush control, manure  and meat production
3. Chickensfor meat and eggs. Allowed to range for pest management and soil fertility.
4. Interplantings of trees and row crops for diversity, wind breaks, encouragement of beneficial insects and birds.
5. Custom off farm hay bailing to bring compostable fibre and feed to the ranch. 
6. Irish Fiddle music to warm the heart.
7. Hand Spun Yarn and Hand crafted items to warm the body.
8. Blacksmithing.
9. Horse drawn carriage and wagon services.  Taking  the farm to the city.
10. Farm market sales.  Connecting with those interested in wholesome products and  who wish to know where their food comes from.
11. Produce delivery services.
